Late Br. Lukose Nedumchira, the youngest son of Uthup Nedumchira and the youngest brother of Msgr. Jacob Nedumchira, is regarded as the most notable figure in the history of the Nedumchira family. He was the first member of the family to embrace the Catholic Church. At that time, the family held some conservative views against the Catholic Church as it belonged to another denomination of Christianity known as Jacobites. Br. Lukose had to go through many hardships from his family to hold on to his faith in the Catholic Church. His sufferings and miraculous death ultimately convinced the entire family to embrace the Catholic faith and remain with it forever.
