Punnaplissery
The origins of the Punnaplissery sub-branch of the Nedumchira family can be traced back to late Itty Punnaplissery, who was the second son of the late Uthup Nedumchira. Uthup was the youngest son of Thomman Thomman Nedumchira. Itty was married to Sosamma of the Koickal family, Ranni, and they had four sons and a daughter. Their family home was known as Punnaplissery, and subsequently, his descendants were referred to as the Punnaplissery sub-branch of the Nedumchira family.
One of Itty's sons, Joseph, passed away at an early age, while his second son, Zacharia, lived at the Valiyakunnackal house in Chengalam. Zacharia had four sons and a daughter. Itty's third son, Late Uppaikunju, and his only daughter, Sosakutty, remained unmarried. The youngest son, Late N.I. Lukose, had two sons.
